A GHOST CRIES

Their friendship made them
to fall in love
but years later her smile faded
when he had to go off.

They said goodbye
in the Batumi Wharf.
Her big love cried
and promised be back.

Since that, she’s waiting for
in the Batumi Wharf
but life had a surprise in store,
a painful and gloomy life.

Many years went by
and her love didn’t return.
She had a cry
in every dying dawn.

That enviable love
was on her mind
when he went off.
Now her face is lined…

The pain was too much to bear
and death was near.

She was waiting for
in the Batumi Wharf
but life had a surprise in store,
a painful and gloomy life.

In the darkness a ship arrived
with an excited man.
That would be his saddest night
and he’s only himself to thank.

He said “I’m back
and I’ll never go again”.
Let’s live our romance!
You’re the eternal love of mine.

“My love, I was waiting for you”
she said in a whisper.
I never stopped loving you
and I don’t feel bitter.

Those were her last words
and forever her eyes were closed.

She died in his arms
and he’s only himself to thank.
A ghost cries in the Batumi Wharf
in every dying dawn.
